This year I will be displaying pieces of my art work around Chapel Allerton as part of the 2020 Arts Festival.
The Chapel Allerton Arts Festival is a week of events in and around Chapel Allerton followed by a weekend of live music in street, craft ales, family activities, stalls and a wide range of food
The event had to be cancelled this year due to Covid19 but the Chapel Allerton Artists are running an open air art trail between 4-6th September
This year I am supporting Inkwell Arts with their annual Mayday Art Exhibition which continues to attract fantastic artists and hundreds of visitors. Listening to the buzz and chatter around the cafe and gallery brings home how much of a well-loved event the exhibition has become.
The event takes place between 11th May until 12th June 2018
Inkwell is a safe, creative and accessible space where passion and skills entwine, challenging the stigma of mental health and celebrating the diversity of its participants. It seeks to engage, stimulate and absorb all abilities through creative activity. Users develop life skills such as teamwork and problem solving leading to increased confidence and improved wellbeing.
Each year I join join the other wonderful local artists taking part in Roundhay artists open studios in Leeds. The trail provides an occasion for the public to visit artists’ studios and see the wide range of creative talent in the area, which includes artists working in portraiture, ceramics, landscapes and abstract paintings, textiles, sculpture, glass and experimental mixed media.
Open Studios 2018 is took place on:
Sunday 6th May and Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2018 between 11am and 5pm
This is a chance for you to engage with the artists and discover the passion and inspiration that drives them, watch them at work, and even in some cases have a go yourselves. There will be opportunities to purchase one off pieces of art and also commission work to your individual specifications. This is a wonderful opportunity for an inspiring look at this thriving community. I will be demonstrating how I make my flat graphic neighbourhoods.
Last year I supported St.Gemma's Annual Art Exhibition which continues to attract fantastic artists and hundreds of visitors. Listening to the buzz and chatter around the room brings home how much of a well-loved event the exhibition has become.
Almost 900 pieces of art were exhibited in 2017. The four day exhibition and sale raised an incredible £28,000, a vital contribution to the daily running costs at St Gemma’s Hospice.
St.Gemma's are a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with terminal illnesses. They offer specialist medical and nursing care to thousands of local people each year and offer invaluable support to their families and friends. First opened in 1978, they are the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in England.
Leeds have been waiting for their moment for a long time. It is four years since the people of Leeds were first asked if they wanted to see the city bid for the title of European Capital of Culture and they responded with a resounding YES LEEDS!
The rules might have changed slightly but now Leeds is taking charge of it's own destiny to ensure we celebrate the cultures that bring our city together and put Leeds firmly on the map. I for one am hoping to support those efforts.
31st January 2018 marked the moment everyone was waiting for. The announcement from Leeds City council and the 2023 Bid team letting the world know we are here and were getting on with it.
I will be joining other professional artists in north Leeds who are clearing out their studios, attics and cellars and offering the public the chance to buy original art and fine craft – including many previous unseen works, at reduced prices. Raising money for St. Gemma's.
I will be presenting some of my latest work and personal favourites as part of my one man show at Heart in Headingley this January. My brand new Headingley print will be on show and available to buy for the first time.
Back at 'Art Roundhay Park' this Autumn showcasing new original art, prints, stationery, gifts, home wares, fabric and wall coverings and new ranges. The show is in the conservatory up by the Mansion House and will run into mid December.
